SVEB 1 Zurich - What is an adult educator/vocational trainer?

Choosing the right profession is difficult for many people, whether they have just finished school and are about to start their education or are already in their professional life and looking for new challenges. A popular choice is the profession of teacher, as it offers many advantages. Imparting knowledge to other people is meaningful and makes it possible to deal intensively with an interesting subject and to learn new things yourself. In the process, you can meet interesting people and help them develop.

When people think of teachers, they often think of working with children and young people. But there are other options. As an adult educator or vocational educator, you have the opportunity to guide adults in their learning. Teaching adults can be a great experience because they have a lot of life experience and are often very motivated.

To be successful as a trainer, it is advantageous to have the necessary didactic know-how. The SVEB certificate, which is recognized throughout Switzerland, offers the opportunity to prove oneself as a competent and expert vocational trainer and to increase one's chances on the job market.

In addition to the SVEB certificate "Trainer - Conducting Learning Events" (formerly SVEB I), there is also the EUROLTA certificate. This is aimed specifically at teachers who wish to offer language teaching for adults. The EUROLTA certificate (European Certificate in Language Teaching to Adults) is recognized throughout Europe and provides the same didactic competencies as the SVEB certificate course. In many cases, the EUROLTA certificate can be obtained after successful completion of the SVEB course for an additional fee.

Our educational institute, the ILS, plans in the near future to offer the EUROLTA certificate in addition to the SVEB certificate.
