ILS offers language courses in German, French, English, Italian, Spanish, Arabic, Turkish, Russian, Chinese, Japanese and many other languages.
How much a course costs depends on the course type and duration. Take a look at our different course formats for the individual languages. At the ILS, you receive a quantity discount: The longer you book, the cheaper your course will be.
You can conveniently pay the amount for your booked course by invoice or bank transfer within the specified period.

The teaching material used in the course depends on the language. In the group courses German, French, English, Italian and Spanish we use the following teaching materials:
- German: Schritte Plus and Sicher
- French: On y va and Alter Ego
- English: Go for it and Great
- Spanish: Eñe
- Italian: Chiaro
The content in private lessons can be individually determined and adapted. For all other languages, contact us and we will inform you about the exact course content.
How long a successfully completed level takes for you depends on the course format on the one hand and on your learning progress and comprehension skills on the other. Roughly, the guidelines for course duration apply, which you can find on the subpage of the respective course.
Depending on the course format, your lessons will take place daily, 3x per week, 2x per week or 1x per week. We will arrange how often you would like to come to the course individually according to your wishes. You can use the lessons in private lessons flexibly according to your wishes and use them as often as you like.
If you are not sure whether you would like to book a course at ILS, you can convince yourself at any time without obligation during a trial lesson. Trial lessons can always be attended. Contact us to make an appointment.
If you are unable to attend an appointment, please let us know 24 hours in advance.
You can cancel free of charge up to 7 days before the course starts. Later cancellations or course cancellations will not be refunded. In the event of illness or death, we will be happy to issue a credit note for your remaining lessons.
After passing the final test, you will receive a certificate from us confirming the level you have completed. If you do not take or do not pass a final test, we will issue you with a course confirmation for the respective course.
Our language school is EduQua-certified and a member of telc, SVEB, temptraining and KulturLegi. In addition, ILS-Zürich is a licensed telc examination center where you can acquire telc certificates.
ILS is an EduQua-certified language school and issues the school's own language certificates. Many authorities or public bodies require a quality label such as EduQua for the school to be recognised. To be sure whether our certificate is recognised by the body in question, please be sure to enquire there directly.
You can only obtain a nationally or internationally recognized certificate if you take a fide-Test or telc exam with us. You can only obtain the internal ILS certificate if you attend a course and complete it with the final test. Without completing the test, you have the option of receiving a course confirmation of lessons attended at any time.
Our language courses are characterised by varied teaching units. Our course groups regularly undertake activities for which the participants only have to pay their own costs (e.g. entrance fees, meals).
We also organise exciting activities outside of the courses, for which only the cost price (e.g. entrance fees, food) has to be paid.
Missed lessons in group courses cannot be made up. If you are unable to attend a lesson in private tuition, then it will not be counted, provided you cancel the appointment at least 24 hours in advance. You can then use these lessons in any other way you wish.
You can always register with us at Register and start as soon as possible. If you are not interested in an official course start date Register , you can join existing groups at any time. It is always possible to join Registration for private lessons.
